The Test of Love

FEBRUARY 8TH, 2022 | TODAY'S DEVOTIONAL: THE TEST OF LOVE
To forgive is not easy because you never have to forgive someone for something that doesn’t matter, or forgive him or her for helping you, or making you smile or making you feel good. The only time you have to forgive is when you’ve been hurt, especially by someone you truly love or care about.

To forgive is the most difficult act of love, but it is that which stops Satan from gaining a footstool in your relationship. Unforgiveness is just like drinking a poison and expecting somebody else to die. What do you do when you feel betrayed, cheated on, lied on or scandalized? This is where your love is tested. Make a choice to forgive. Don’t allow your emotions to mislead you. Your feelings can be your number one false prophet. It is true that you are very angry. YES! I am not underrating that. But when you choose not to forgive, you hurt deeper, and you deprive yourself of that sanity and inner peace you deserve. The best gift you can give to yourself is to forgive. It helps and saves you more than the one who hurt you. Make that choice today and live a meaningful life of joy by forgiving those who offended you.

Prayer Points:
1. Ask the Lord for grace to heal your heart of any bitterness
2. Pray and ask God to remove any grudge or offence in your heart
3. Ask the Lord for a complete cleansing on your heart and ask for grace to release anyone that has offended you
4. Say a prayer for anyone who might have hurt or wronged you and declare God’s blessings on them.
