FEBRUARY 28th, 2022 | TODAY'S DEVOTIONAL: OFFENSES (LUKE 6:27-28)

The Greek word that represents OFFENSE is “bait”, or “snare”, or “stumbling block”. It means anything that hinders someone from doing what is right or causes one to sin or fall away from the faith. Jesus emphatically warns that judgment awaits those who cause others to stumble.

An offence is a seed that grows to become hatred, jealousy, murder and the like. Offenses are like fences. They cage you in misery, hurt and pain. To be offended may not be as hurtful as being offended by someone you really love and care for. The antidote to offense is forgiveness.

Forgiveness means responding to an offense with good. It means you don’t pay back or seek an opportunity for revenge. Forgiveness keeps Satan out of your life and gives you inner peace. Find it in your heart today to forgive anyone that has offended you.
