Winning Over Temptation

MARCH 29TH, 2022 | TODAY'S DEVOTIONAL: WINNING OVER TEMPTATION (1 CORINTHIANS 10:13)
Temptation is a regular part of the Christian life rather than an abnormal occurrence. The devil waits for opportune times before striking. It may be when you have become most vulnerable or are physically weak that the devil tempts you to discourage and sway you from your faith in God. Temptations may come after a major success when we are feeling triumphant and become confident in ourselves.

The devil’s main purpose of tempting believers is to make them doubt and disbelieve God. He understands human weakness and uses that against us. It is what enables him to succeed in tempting us as often as he does. His success is not certain. We are not helpless against him. The more we understand his tactics the better we can resist.

The Lord does not say temptations will not come our way, but He has promised a way out. Though we cannot stop evil thoughts from passing through our minds, we can stop these thoughts from controlling our minds. We need to renew our minds with the word of God daily. Know that God will never permit you to be tempted beyond your capacity to handle it. God is faithful and He will show you the way out of every temptation.

PRAYER POINTS:
1. Ask the Lord to exchange your weaknesses with His strength.
2. Take authority in the name of Jesus and nullify any scheme of the devil against your faith in God.
