Make Seeking God Your Priority

Sometimes the door to breakthroughs will open only when we understand why it was shut in the first place. God will sometimes shut some doors just so that at the set time of its manifestation His purpose will be made clear. Hannah realized that she couldn’t be satisfied with less than God’s will. Her husband had two wives, and loved Hannah even more than the other. But God in His wisdom opened the womb of the one who was not loved and Hannah’s womb was shut.

The reason the Lord shut Hannah’s womb was because He had a bigger plan for her. Hannah wanted just a son, but God had a Prophet in mind to save His people. All God needed was Hannah’s attention and wanted her to draw closer to Him. In her desperation, Hannah sought the Lord and the Lord visited her at the appointed time.

The pressures of life cause us to re-examine our lives, dig deep and seek God as never before. Our prayer changes from “Lord, here is what I want” to “Lord, what is your perfect will for me?” It is only then that He blesses us, because He rewards those who diligently seek Him.

1. Pray and surrender your will and desires to the supreme will of God.
2. Pray that nothing will cause you to lose or miss your priorities as you serve the Lord.
