Make Seeking God Your Priority

FEBRUARY 25th, 2022 | TODAY'S DEVOTIONAL: MAKE SEEKING GOD YOUR PRIORITY (1 SAMUEL 1:5)

Sometimes the door to breakthroughs open only when we understand why it was shut in the first place. God will sometimes shut some doors just so that at the set time of its manifestation His purpose will be made clear. The story of Hannah is one of such examples in the Bible.

Her womb was shut and she prayed to God asking for a son but God wanted a prophet. She was even specific that if God blessed her with that son, he would be dedicated to God’s purposes. God did not only bless her with a son but she had six more children.

When you pray for a harvest God will ask you to sow a seed that will cost you. The reason the Lord shut Hannah’s womb was because He needed Hannah’s attention and wanted her to draw closer to Him. In her desperation, Hannah sought the Lord and He visited her at the appointed time.

Change your prayer from “Lord, here is what I want” to “Lord, here is my all, what do You want from me?” His reward to you will be immeasurable. Do not seek God for what you can get from Him but for what He can do through you. Seek Him faithfully.
